Cake Decorating Chef Educator
Sunny was born in Seoul, South Korea. Her passion for art and drawing led her to the United States at age 19. She graduated with an art degree then held a cake decorating and chocolatier position at Pâtisserie Poupon in Baltimore, Maryland, under mentor Joseph Poupon. In this position, she applied her artistic talents to cake decorating and never looked back. With her steady hand, she gracefully piped intricate designs on cakes and pastries as Head Cake Decorator for Sarah’s Candies and for Chef Patrick Fahy at the Trump International Hotel and Tower, as Chef Instructor at The French Pastry School, and as Pastry Chef/Cake Artist at ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Sunny has been recognized for her talents in national magazines and is the winner of two Food Network cake competitions. In 2015, she was awarded the International Cake Exploration Societe’s (ICES) Certified Master Sugar Artist, the organization’s highest title worldwide. Sunny comes to The Butter Book as our Cake Decorating Chef Educator, bringing her precise detail and inventive creativity to our cakes and pastries.
